Minister of state for Education, Nyesom Wike has vowed to hold on to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, political structure in Rivers State.
Wike made the vow during the inauguration of ward and council executives of Grassroot Development Initiative, GDI at Emohua Local Government Council of the state.
Wike alleged that Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi had accepted that he had lost PDP structure in the state.
According to him, “I heard that some people were saying that we are begging them to collect structure. Meanwhile, I heard them saying give me back my structure. Which structure are they looking for. If they are looking for structure they should go to APC or they should go to PDM”.
Wike, who is also the grand patron of GDI described those calling on Presdident Goodluck Jonathan to drop his presidential aspiration as enemies of South-south.
“Anybody who fights against Jonathan is an enemy of Rivers State. Anybody who fights Jonathan is an enemy of South-South.
“I have challenged them, those of them who have been claiming that they had millions of vote. Time has come, let them challenge us and go to another party and let’s us see if they can produce 2 million votes. Enough is enough”, he added.
Chairman of PDP in the state, Felix Obuah, Uche Secondus, Abiye Sekibo, Chief Medical Director of University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UPTH, Professor Aaron Ojule, were all present at the event.
