Rivers court remands two for defiling underage girls

A Magistrates court in Port Harcourt has remanded two young men in prison for allegedly committing pedophile.

Twenty one year old Bright Abel was remanded in prison custody for defiling two little girls under age six. Bright Abel, who was employed as a security man for a private appartment in Rumuodumaya area of Port Harcourt  allegedly defiled the two sisters by inserting his fingers into their vagina. Abel was also allegedly caught inserting his “manhood in the mouth of the four year old girl,” his charge sheet reads. Similarly, one Joseph Samuel was also remanded for defiling a 10-year-old girl. According to the Police charge, Samuel allegedly defiled girl during a vigil service in a church at Ogbunabali area of Port Harcourt. The two young men, Bright Abel and Joseph Samuel are said to have violated Section 31 of the Child Rights Act. Magistrate Hannah Osanapkor declined jurisdiction on the matter, saying the matter was reserved for the High Court. She refered the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution in Rivers state for legal advice and adjourned to 17 January, 2018 for mention.
