The Rivers State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed members into the Caretaker Committees of twenty-two Local government areas of the State.
Only Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local government area was left out in the list.
Speaker of the House, Ikunyi Awaji-Igbani who read a letter from the Governor, Nyesom Wike said the screening was in line with the Local government Law of the state.
President General of the Grassroot Development Initiative, Bright Amaewhule was nominated to Chair Obio-Akpor Local government area.
Clifford Oparaodu was nominated for Port Harcourt while Pone Thompson was nominated as the Chairman of Okrika Local government area. The nominees were later confirmed after the they were allowed to take a bow.
“By this order I hearby confirm the screened Caretaker Committee Chairmen and members-designate into 22 Local Government areas of the state.
“We urge the Executive governor of the state to perform his responsibilities, ” the Speaker said.
DAILY POST reports that the confirmed nominees are expected to be sworn-in by the Governor.
