President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has insisted that the federation is not to blame, for the failure of the U-23 Eagles to leave USA for Brazil ahead of the 2016 Olympics.
Samson Siasia and his team were expected to travel on Monday, but have been stranded at their Atlanta base ever since.
Although the team is expected to travel soon, Pinnick has now explained the cause for the delay.
He claimed that it was the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) responsibilty to arrange the trip, not the NFF’s.
“Kindly note that it is the responsibility of the NOC to move the team,” Pinnick wrote on his Twitter handle on Wednesday.
“The transfer system in the banks is very slow. We are working seriously with the ministry and now it will be okay.”
