Rev. Father Adeyi’s death, a colossal loss – Adaji


Member representing Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency of Benue State, Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, has expressed deep shock and displeasure over the news of the death of Rev. Father John Adeyi, who was kidnapped about two months ago, describing his demise as a colossal loss.

Adaji in a condolence message to the immediate family of the late lergy, government and people of Benue State, Christian community and the Catholic church worldwide said despite providing the ransom demanded by the dreaded kidnappers, they went ahead to take the innocent soul of one of the most great priests in Idoma land.

He said, “The news came to me as a big shock. I cannot quantify the pains of the death of our gentle and adorable priest.

“He lived his entire life serving humanity. What a heartless and dastardly act from these evil men. This is very sad, barbaric and demonic.

“This high level of criminality is alien to us in our race. My people are godly and peaceful citizens of this great country. Recently, Mrs. ‎Charity Aba was kidnapped and murdered in a cold blood in Otukpo town of Benue State.‎”

He lamented the incessant kidnapping, murder and other heinous crimes in Benue State in recent times, calling on security operatives to double their efforts at unraveling perpetrators of these evil and, put an end to the agony of losing loved ones in the hands of these ‎satanic agents.

“There is a scriptural warning, never to touch or harm an anointed man of God. This inhuman act is like inviting the wrath of God to a community which was known to be peaceful and accommodating”, Adaji stressed.‎
