Respected judge, Kayode Eso buried in hometown

Late Justice Babakayode Eso

The late renowned jurist, Justice Babakayode Eso, was on Friday committed to mother-earth.

The funeral which had many prominent personalities in attendance held at the Holy Trinity cathedral, Omofe, Ilesa, Osun State.

Some of those who graced the event include: former Minister of Justice, Prince Bola Ajibola; the Minister of State for Defence, Chief (Mrs) Olusola Obada; General Alani Akinrinade (rtd); Chief Olabode George and former Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Justice Emmanuel Ayoola.

Others are Governors Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and Dr. Kayode Fayemi ,Governor of Ekiti State; Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state was represented by his wife, Florence. The list also includes former Ekiti State Governor, Chief Adeniyi Adebayo; Osun State Deputy Governor, Titi Laoye-Tomori; Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), among others.

In his sermon, the head of All Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Nicolas D. Okoh, urged the audience to imbibe the virtues of the deceased, who he said devoted his life to the course of the masses and humanity. He described the late Justice Eso, as a legal icon who worked hard to ensure a better judiciary and polity at large.

He called on the nation’s leaders to “eschew monetary inducements and other social vices, that have retarded the progress of Nigeria as a corporate entity.”
