Repent or face wrath of the soldiers of Christ – CAN cautions kidnappers in Delta

Kidnappers in Delta State have been warned by the State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to repent from their evil ways or be ready to face intense spiritual offensive from the ‘soldiers of Christ’.

The Christian body cautioned it would not hesitate to call the christians in the State together for a massive spiritual exercise that could cause a huge harm on the perpetrators of the unholy act suspected to be the herdsmen in the State.

This is in reaction to the recent abduction and subsequent elimination of a traditional ruler, Obi of Ubulu – Uku Kingdom in Aniocha South Local Government Area, HRM Akaeze Ofolue 111, as well as last weekend’s abduction of HRM Josiah Aghaza 1, the traditional ruler of Olomoro Kingdom in Isoko South Local Government Area.

In a statement issued by Rev. Gideon Oyibo the state chairman of CAN, and secretary, Rev. Ole Akokotu, the body said it was disturbed by the rising spate of kidnapping and condemned the dastard act in strong terms.

Also, the statement called on security agencies in the state to wake up to their responsibilities in nipping the re-occurring but ugly incident in the bud.

CAN, however commerserates with the entire people of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom on the bizarre kidnapping and heartless murder of Obi Ofolue III, hence, declaring intensive prayers for the quick release of the kidnapped traditional ruler of Olomoro Kingdom, Aghaza I.

Meanwhile, the christian body called on all Christians and men of God in the state to pray and fast regularly for the peace, security and safety of all traditional rulers, medical doctors, government officials, politicians, gospel ministers and all.

Furthermore, the body charged youths in the state to continue to keep an eye on activities of herdsmen in their respective domains and report suspicious and atrocious movements to the appropriate agencies.

“We are disturbed that herdsmen have been notoriously and continously involved in many criminal activities in the country, without the adequate punitive and corrective actions of the federal government and security agencies.

“We, therefore, warn that these herdsmen who have abused the hospitality and generosity of Deltans by kidnapping and killing a notable harmless citizens and traditional rulers in Delta and raping innocent women to repent or be ready to face the wrath of the soldiers of Christ in Delta State.

“Finally, we must affirm that when necessary, the state CAN will not hesitate to mobilise Christians in Delta State for appropriate massive actions against herdsmen in Delta State,” the statement said.
