Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex president Goodluck Jonathan has revealed plans of Presidency concerning the viral tapes of Minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari.
DAILY POST earlier reported on Saturday of an audio released by Reno Omokri, quoting Amaechi criticising the President.
In the first viral audio, Amaechi was reportedly heard saying, “The President does not listen to anybody. Does he even read?”
But the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital, New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, has claimed that the audio recording was from 2014 at the height of Amaechi’s fight with Omokri’s former principal, President Goodluck Jonathan.
In what appears as a counterattack against Ogunlesi’s defence, Omokri released the full clip, where Amaechi was put on record mentioning President Buhari’s name.
Amaechi has now been roundly accused of working for Buhari because of personal gains and urged to step down as Director-General of his campaign.
However, speaking with The Sun, the Transport Minister denied knowledge of the audio.
When he was asked for his comments on the audio that has gone viral, Amaechi said: “Nothing. I am not aware of any audio recording.”
But, speaking again, Omokri took to his Twitter page, raising alarm of plans by the presidency to divert attention of Nigerians from the tapes.
The former presidential spokesman, threatening yo release part 3 of the audio wrote: “Likely Scenarios to Divert Attention from the #AmaechiTapes: EFCC makes a prominent arrest, Buhari orders release of Ikoyi Billions report, ‘Rescue’ some #ChibokGirls, The $2.8 million Union Bank money may be returned but RETWEET if you still want me to release PART 3.”
