A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Chief of Staff to Ekiti State Government during the immediate past administration of ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi, Honourable Yemi Adaramodu, has urged Nigerians to be patient with the FG over the new pump price of petrol, stating that the decision was taken in the best interest of Nigerians.
Speaking with DAILY POST at the weekend during the well-attended burial of his late mother, 102-year-old Yeye Dada Jolasun Elizabeth Adaramodu at Ilawe-Ekiti, Adaramodu said: “In Nigeria, as we have political parasite, so do we have commodity parasite, the commodity parasite are milking Nigeria dry on fuel subsidy;they siphon billions of Dollars through this subsidy. They import the fuel at subsidized rate but some of them don’t even supply the fuel to Nigerians at all. So, removing the subsidy and liberalizing the importation of fuel is the best decision by the FG. Nigerians would only appreciate this act in the coming days when the dynamism of competition forces down the price of fuel. So I urge Nigerian to be patient and bear with the government, ” he said.
