The Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, yesterday added its voice to the raging criticism of Federal Government’s decision to relocate detained Boko Haram suspects to a prison facility in Anambra State.
Spokesman of the group, Mr. Yinka Odumaki, who stated this in Lagos at a public forum to commemorate the life and times of MKO Abiola, explained that the alleged transfer of prisoners was like scattering Ebola patients who ought to be confined to a special ward.
According to him, “Moving Boko Haram Prisoners is like spreading the Ebola Virus which is supposed to be confined.
“We, the South-West people, kick against moving the prisoners to South-East Nigeria. We should contain Boko Haram and not spread it.
“Also, one of the issues that have increased the incessant bombings in the North is the removal of military checkpoints. I will use this opportunity to plead with the federal government to restore military checkpoints where insurgency is at its peak,” Odumaki stated.
