Belgium coach, Roberto Martinez, has revealed the real reasons striker, Romelu Lukaku left Manchester United.
DAILY POST recalls that Lukaku joined Antonio Conte’s men from Manchester United on transfer deadline day earlier this month.
The former Chelsea and Everton star joined the Serie A giants on a five-year deal for £73million.
But Martinez is now saying that the 26-year-old Belgium international left Man United because he was bored with life at Old Trafford.
Speaking on why Lukaku left Man United for Inter Milan, Martinez was quoted by Mirror UK as saying: “Romelu needed a new challenge.
“Sometimes you get bored with a club.
“Working with Conte will please him and the project of Inter, who will chase the title, is interesting. I saw Lukaku laughs again and it made me happy.”
Lukaku has made an instant impression in Italy after scoring on his debut in Inter Milan’s 4-0 win over Lecce at San Siro on Monday.
He is expected to be included in Martinez’s Belgium squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against San Marino and Scotland next month.
