Real Madrid vs Juventus: Buffon blasts Michael Oliver over late penalty call

Juventus goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, has lashed out at referee Michael Oliver, over the late penalty he awarded to Real Madrid, in their 3-1 win at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

Madrid came into the second leg of the quarter-final clash with a 3-0 lead.

However, Mario Mandzukic’s brace and Blaise Matuidi’s goal, saw Juventus level the tie on aggregate.

With seconds left in the game, Oliver pointed to the spot, after Medhi Benatia appeared to knee Lucas Vasquez in the back.

Buffon was sent off for protesting the decision, before Ronaldo stepped up and fired high into the roof of the net.

“Referee can’t have the cynicism to destroy the effort of a whole team.

“A human being can’t send away a team like this!

“If you want to be that protagonist, sit in the ground with your wife. Oliver got a rubbish bin in place of his heart!” Buffon told reporters after the game.
