Jose Mourinho has given reasons why Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos, elbowed Lionel Messi, during their 1-0 loss to Barcelona on Saturday.
The LaLiga leaders won 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu, their second win in four days on their rivals’ home turf.
Barca’s victory also saw them open a 12-point gap ahead of Madrid at the top.
However, one of the flashpoints of the first half, saw Ramos tussle with Messi.
Messi attempted to make a tackle on Ramos, but his dangling leg was skipped over.
But as the Real skipper hurdled the challenge, he thwacked Messi in the mouth with his arm.
Ramos’ former manager, Mourinho, reckons he knows exactly why the Spain legend produced the assault.
“He knows the game has to change, and probably he does it with intention of creating a little different temperature for the second half.
Because the game, until now, was really soft in my opinion,” Mourinho told beIN Sports:
