Bayer Munich boss, Jupp Heynckes has revealed what went through the mind of his goalkeeper, Sven Ulreich after his huge blunder against Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
The goalkeeper was at fault for Real Madrid’s second goal.
Real Madrid held on for a 2-2 draw to win through 4-3 on aggregate and book their place in the final on May 26 in Kiev.
Karim Benzema scored twice for the hosts, but it was his second goal that was a calamity for Ulreich.
Jupp Heynckes admits he feels sorry for Sven Ulreich
“Ulreich got confused, had a little black-out,” Heynckes said.
“He didn’t know if he could pick it up, realised he couldn’t, got nervous and that’s what happened.
“It’s a terrible thing for a player to live through.
“It was a bad moment for my team but we had a lot of chances to score and my keeper played really well overall.”
