Real Madrid seek to equal Barcelona’s unbeaten record this weekend

Real Madrid will be looking to equal Barcelona’s Spanish record of 39 matches unbeaten, when they host Granada at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

Zinedine Zidane will welcome back Cristiano Ronaldo, who missed their first game of the year – a 3-0 win over Sevilla in the first leg of their Copa del Rey last 16 tie on Wednesday.

The victory took their unbeaten run to 38 matches and capped a dream debut year in charge for Zidane, who has won three trophies and oversaw just two defeats in 54 games.

“I won’t rest Ronaldo. He will play on Saturday and he will play many games, there is no need to worry,” Zidane said.

“There are some players that make the difference like Cristiano because he is a different player, but we will need everyone to win what we want.”
