Bayern Munich midfielder, Arturo Vidal, has hit out at referee Victor Kassai, after their Champions League quarter-final won by Real Madrid and claims they suffered a “robbery” on Tuesday night.
With the tie levelled 3-3 on aggregate, Vidal was shown a second yellow card for tackling Marco Asensio.
Madrid went on to score three goals in extra time to progress into the last four on a 6-3 aggregate .
“When Madrid got scared, the referee began his show,” Vidal said.
“This robbery can’t happen in the Champions League. We felt it a lot and you start to wonder a bit.
“We wanted to go through and there’s a lot of anger in that a match of such intensity is decided by the referee. He made a lot of mistakes and knocked us out of the Champions League.
“When [referees] embarrass you like that, it’s really hard to take. It makes you very angry.”
Bayern manager, Carlo Ancelotti, also blasted the match officials and called for the introduction of video assistant referees.
