Real Madrid’s president, Perez speaks on Zidane’s future as manager

Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, has said he plans on “keeping everyone” at the club, including manager Zinedine Zidane, after they defeated Juventus in the Champions League final on Saturday night.

Los Blancos recovered from a poor first half to run out 4-1 winners at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, becoming the first team to retain the famous trophy.

And Perez is hoping to keep history-making group together, with Zinedine Zidane remaining coy on his future and the likes of James Rodriguez, Alvaro Morata and Pepe all being linked with summer exits.

“We’re very happy, we’ve won, we played very well, I don’t know where to start,” he told Atresmedia.

“This is for the players, the coach and the fans.

“Ballon d’Or? There’s no-one who deserves it more than Cristiano.

“Zidane? He’s a person that all us madridistas have to thank. He elevated our level of talent in 2001 and put on a show. He’s done this in 17 months, and in 17 months you can’t do everything.

“Zidane not confirming he will stay on? He said that to free himself of the pressure. He said that he hadn’t won anything, but now he’s won everything.

“We’ll talk to Zizou, who’s the conductor of this orchestra, and there’ll be no problem with anything. If it was up to me, I’d keep everyone.”
