Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, refused to make any comments on Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer situation, at a media event Monday.
Perez has been elected to a fifth term as Madrid’s president, extending his tenure with the La Liga giant until 2021.
There has been a lot of speculation about Ronaldo’s future in recent days, with the 32-year-old ready to leave Spain, after being accused of not paying over 14.7million in taxes.
Instead of taking questions from the assembled media in Madrid, Perez gave a statement in which he did not mention Ronaldo.
“We have build a legendary team with the best players in the world and the best players in Spain, but also many from the academy.
“That is the model Real Madrid will continue with.
“When this club is united it is practically indestructible.
“This season has been the best in our history.
“We will continue to work on this project without falling into the trap of complacency, putting more emphasis on youth,” he said.
