Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has admitted that his future may lie away from the Santiago Bernabeu, after the club was dumped out of the Champions League.
The European champions could only draw 1-1 at home against Juventus, after losing 2-1 in the first leg.
Madrid failed to take full advantage of their superior possession and missed several opportunities, but Ancelotti insists he is satisfied with how his team played.
He said: “The team fought, worked hard and played well. There is nothing to reproach them for this evening. We are sad as is normal, we have to look forward to the next two games and I think we have to finish the season well and then we will talk. I thank my players because they have worked to the maximum. We lacked very little, only small details.
“I didn’t see the team as tired, we had a lot of shots on goal. Maybe with a little bit of freshness we would have had more efficiency.
“We had the chances to score. In the final part of the game it was more difficult – we weren’t efficient, but the effort of the team was great.”
When asked about his future, the Italian tactician stated he would like to stay, except the club decides to let him go.
“My future for me is decided, I would like to stay here. But I know how things are in football and the club has the right to change the coach if they want to,” Ancelotti said.
“I am satisfied, above all, because I have a very good relationship with the players. I have had support from the club in good and bad moments. I assess it in a positive manner.”
