Real Madrid hammer Deportivo in Zidane’s first game

Gareth Bale was the star of the show, as Zinedine Zidane took charge of his first match as Real Madrid manager.

The Welshman scored a hat-trick, including his 50th goal for Los Blancos, as they romped to victory at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

Karim Benzema opened the scoring, before Bale headed in the second.

The former Tottenham Hotspur man added two more, before Benzema rounded off a fine attacking display with the fifth goal.

The win sees Madrid occupy third place in La Liga with 37 points from 18 games.
