Pastor Christopher Olatunji of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lokoja, Kogi, has urged all Christians to pray fervently for a successful transition from the current administration to its successor.

In his sermon with the theme “God’s mercy on a country”, on Sunday in Lokoja, Olatunji declared that only God could watch over any nation and meet its aspirations.

He noted that Nigeria was “in a very decisive moment”, and challenged the faithful to pray for peace, love and mutual respect amongst all.

He said that it was God that saved Nigerians from evil doers by granting a successful general election, praying God to continue to keep the nation as one.

Olatunji specifically called on all Nigerians to pray for a peaceful handing over on May 29, adding that prayers were also required for the Almighty to disgrace all the enemies of Nigeria.

“The Goliaths Nigerians see today, they will see them no more,” he said of the nation’s concerns.

He said that Nigerians needed to pray so that the new government would not be same as the former.

Olatunji told the congregation that God has confirmed that the country would not be divided, and urged all Nigerians to be prayerful at all times.
