Rangers ready to face any team in CAF Champions League – Chukwu

Former Super Eagles coach, now Rangers International Sports Director, Christian Chukwu, is optimistic that the team will go far in the Caf Champions League after the draws were released yesterday.

The former Eagles gaffer noted that there are no weak teams in any championship anymore.

Chukwu told the Vanguard, “If you want to be a champion, you must beat the best. You are not to fear your opponents but show them respect.”

The legendary former Rangers player said, added that “Those who think the Algerians are comfortable facing Rangers should do a rethink.

“As people are panicking here over the draw, that is how the Algerians too are panicking because of Rangers.

“It is a 50-50 game, but I can assure you that Rangers are ready for them.”

According to Chukwu, any team that qualifies for a competition is a potential champion, that is why no team should be underrated, not the least Rangers.

The former Nigerian skipper added that the Enugu side was in good shape and the morale in camp is high following the cash and land rewards given the players by the State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

“The boys are in high spirit and the governor has motivated them to the highest level as even those who were thinking of leaving are thinking twice.

“They have promised the governor the Champions League trophy,” Chukwu said.
