Ramos snubs United, pens five-year deal with Madrid

Sergio Ramos and Real Madrid have reached an agreement on a new five-year contract that will see the defender stay at the club until 2020.

The Spain international was heavily linked with Manchester United this summer, with the Premier League reportedly asking for the 29-year-old, in any deal that would see David De Gea move to the Bernabeu.

Ramos has now ended all those speculations, by committing his future to Rafa Benitez’s side.

“The agreement between the club and the player is already reached and will be made official before the start of La Liga season [Aug. 23],” the report in Spanish daily, Marca, said.

The player was in action on Monday, as Madrid beat Inter Milan 3-0 in Guangzhou, China.
