R-APC: Buhari, Ganduje’s supporters move to counter Kwankwaso’s influence in Kano

Forty-eight hours after the formation of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC), supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari and Kano Governor, Umar Ganduje have unfolded their strategy.

According to them, they plan to publicly show that Kano will vote massively for Buhari, Ganduje and the ruling APC in the 2019 general election.

On Thursday, a political pressure group, Ranar Wanka Buhari/Ganduje Progressive Group, announced a three million-man youth match.

Addressing a press conference in Kano, Chairman of the group, Alhaji Bala Salihu Dawaki, said the day would be communicated soon.

He disclosed that preparations commenced immediately after the formation of the APC splinter group was announced.

Dawaki confirmed that the rally was conceived to counter political activities of the R-APC.

He added that the group “will visit all the 44 local government areas of Kano state to campaign for President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje”.

The development, DAILY POST understands, is to check the influence of former Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The lawmaker not only commands a cult-like followership in Kano, his close associate, Buba Galadima is the national chairman of the R-APC.

It was gathered that forces behind R-APC endorsed the emergence of Galadima, a former National Secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, based on inputs from power brokers like Kwankwaso.
