Quit notice on Igbos: Governor Masari vows to protect non-indigenes

Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, has assured Igbos and other non-indigenes in the state, about their security, amid calls from a coalition of youth groups for Igbos to leave the North.

In a statement released by his media aide, Abdu Labaran, Masari said his administration was always ready to protect residents without prejudice to their ethnic or religious background.

He also that anyone taking the law into their hands by harassing or intimidating another person or a group of people, will be dealt with.

“Katsina is a home of peace where everybody has the right to go about their legitimate endeavours freely without fear of intimidation or harassment from any quarters.

“I am calling on all non indigenes resident in the state, especially the Igbos, to have nothing to fear. This government is ever so ready, willing, capable and prepared to protect the lives and property of every citizen living in the state regardless of their ethnic, religious or regional background,” the statement read.
