Pwajok will regret leaving PDP – Chieftain

Barely forty eight hours after the member representing Jos South/Jos East Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Edward Pwajok, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC, a chieftain of the PDP in Plateau State, Chief Alexander Mwolwus, has declared that the lawmaker would regret leaving the party.

Pwajok had given factionalisation of the party at both National and State levels of the PDP as reason for his defection.

Pwajok was subsequently received in Jos on Thursday by APC State officials, including Governor Simon Lalong and people of his constituency.

But Mwolwus in a chat with journalists in Jos, described Pwajok’s action as “very hasty’’ and a political suicide’’, which he will live to regret in the near future.

“If Pwajok claimed he left because there was an in house fighting in PDP, what effort did he make to stop the fight?

“What we know is that he set the fire in PDP by using one Badung and his cohort, Macham, to cause problem for us in Plateau only for him to use it as an excuse.

“In as much as we wish him well in his new party, we consider it as good riddance to bad rubbish as he did not wish us well while he was with us rather he inflicted pain, ” he lamented.

Mwolwus, a former Special Adviser to former Governor Jonah Jang, on political affairs, said “PDP is moved by Pwajok’s defection as we are looking towards meeting him at his constituency in 2019.’’

According to him, “We in PDP are strategizing to ensure those who shameless defected are beaten in their constituencies in 2019 in a very painful manner to teach them a lesson.’’

He lamented the frivolous excuses being advanced by politicians to defect from one party to the other and described it as “improper’’ and “anti-politics’’detrimental to nation building.

However, when contacted, Pwajok denied ever causing any trouble in the PDP, stating that he chose to sit down and watch what was going on.

Pwajok said he only decided to leave when he was dissatisfied with the in house fighting in the party and believed that it was the best decision to take.
