PVC: APGA chair, Umeh, Ezeemo commend INEC

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for improving on the country’s electoral system.

Umeh spoke to reporters at his country home in Agulu-Uzoigbo in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State on Saturday, while collecting his permanent voter’s card at Aguluizoigbo town hall.

He said the Commission had improved greatly in its obligation, stressing that the sanctity of people’s votes had been restored.

The APGA Chief expressed optimism that with the recent electoral successes in Anambra, Ekiti and Osun States, the 2015 general elections in the country would be hitch free.

In a separate interview in Umuchu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra, the Progressive Peoples Alliance Chieftain in the state, Mr Godwin Ezeemo commended the timely response of INEC officials.

He said INEC officials were out since Friday when the re-validation exercise began unlike what was obtainable in the past during elections when they never turn up on time and sometimes at all in most polling units.

Ezeemo said that if the officials of INEC can continue with the spirit shown in the revalidation exercise, it will be successful in restoring confidence of the electorate, a proof that they are now serious in electoral restructuring.

He called on the people of the state to make good use of the opportunity offered by INEC voters’ re-validation exercise to update themselves , so that they would be relevant at all time.
