Paris Saint-Germain are ahead of Manchester United in the race for Monaco’s Fabinho, after seeing one offer rejected.
PSG tabled a €45million bid for Fabinho, as they seek to raid their Ligue 1 rivals, who wrestled the French title away from them in 2016/2017.
Monaco have rebuffed the approach and are understood to be unwilling to do business with a domestic rival.
Fabinho is however believed to be keen on making a move to the capital giants. He has reportedly agreed terms and is waiting for both clubs to reach a compromise.
This development will leave United manager Jose Mourinho frustrated, as he identified the Brazilian as a top target, who can operate in both a holding midfield role and at right-back.
