Protesters storm INEC headquarters over production of fake result sheets in Rivers

Protesters, in their hundreds, on Tuesday, stormed the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Abuja over alleged production of fake results sheets for the Rivers re-run elections.

The aggrieved protesters under the aegis of Citizens For Good Governance who are demanding the resignation of INEC’s Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, said the INEC boss was incapable of leading the nation’s electoral umpire.

They claimed that INEC National Commissioner in charge of Electoral Operations, Hajiya Amina Zakari, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, were planning to rig the forthcoming legislative rerun election in Rivers State.

Recall that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike had on Monday accused INEC, the Nigerian Police and the All Progressives Congress, APC, of colluding to rig the forthcoming Rivers Rerun elections.
