Ahead of the Bayelsa governorship election, some protesters, on Tuesday barricaded the entrance of the All Progressives Congress, APC, secretariat in Yenagoa.
The party supporters are demanding that the APC State chairman, Tiwe Oruminighe, should emerge as the running mate to Chief Timipre Sylva.
They hold the view that Tiwe is the best person for the job and that he had made lots of sacrifice for the party.
The protesters tore posters and banners in front of the secretariat and it took the intervention of security personnel to calm them down.
The APC is yet to announce Sylva’s running mate in the December 5, governorship election, a development which has raised anxiety among party faithful.
