Protest as Saraki’s trial resumes at CCT

There is an ongoing protest along the street leading to Code of Conduct Tribunal where Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki was being tried for asset falsification.

Youths in their number bearing placards which reads. “Nigeria Youths stand by Saraki”, “Enough of political persecution”, “Code of Conduct Tribunal, leave our man alone”, said that the National Assembly under Saraki was doing well, hence his trial should be discontinued.

DAILY POST, however, gathered from one of the protesters who pleaded not to be mentioned that they were being sponsored by a member of House of Representatives loyal to Saraki.

Meanwhile, the Code of Conduct Tribunal chambers has been filled to capacity with Stern looking security men in and around the Tribunal premises.

Dr. Saraki, the accused, arrived at exactly 9.56am with few people standing as a mark of respect immediately he entered the chambers.

It was also noticed that about 11 EFCC operatives in Uniform accompanied the prosecuting Counsel and his team in a white Toyota Hiace bus to the Tribunal.
