Prophet allegedly defiles 7-year-old Cameroonian in Cross River

A prophet who gave his name as Pentecost Ewa Usang has been arrested in Calabar Municipal in Cross River State for defiling an 8-year-old girl.

The Prophet said he is in charge of Christ Glorious Assembly in Calabar, Cross River State capital.

He told DAILY POST at the Police Headquarters that it was temptation that lured him into the act.

He disclosed this shortly after he was paraded by the commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Inuwa Hafiz.

“I am here for the case of defilement; my name is Pentecost Ewa Usang, a prophet in Christ Glorious Assembly in Calabar.

“It was temptation that was about to happen but I realised myself and came back to my senses and saw it and I held back myself, I didn’t do it. It wanted to happen but I didn’t permit it to happen.

“I was very close to the girl and when it was about to happen, I came to my senses and I didn’t allow it to happen, the girl is from Cameroon,” he stated.

Other cases of defilement, according to the Commissioner of Police, was the incident that occurred at Akamkpa where one Ubong Umoh had forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of Victory Goodness Sunday, 7-year-old.

The other occurred at Edem Esa Abakot village in Akpabuyo where a founder of Jesus is Barrister in Zion Church, Daniel Asuquo Udoh defiled his daughter Rachel Dominic, 7-year-old.

The Commissioner said “On 2nd September 2018, at about 1545hrs, one Emmanuel Bassey, 35 yrs a suspected rapist at No 35 Spring road calabar was arrested upon information by a team of operatives from State Housing Division.

“The suspect was said to have took one of his staff Ndifreke Okon 18, same date at about 0830hrs to the above address where he forcefully tore her dress and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

“The victim was immediately taken to Police Hospital for medical examination to ascertain her health status. Suspect confessed to the crime and will be charge to court as soon as investigation is completed,” the Commissioner stated.
