Prince Ali bin al-Hussein has demanded that FIFA publish its report into alleged corruption over World Cup bidding immediately.
Independent ethics investigator, Michael Garcia, compiled the report for FIFA in 2014, after looking into the bids for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, to be held in Qatar and Russia respectively.
FIFA however did not publish his version, but released a 42-page summary of the findings, which claimed the two countries were not guilty of any wrongdoing.
This led to Garcia resigning, after he claimed the summary report was “incomplete and erroneous”.
“People need to know what has been going on at FIFA,” Prince Ali said.
“[FIFA need] some basic norms, like publishing the Garcia report immediately, because even those who are running for the position of FIFA president… need to know what has been going on in this organisation, and the public needs to know as well.”
Prince Ali is one of five candidates, that will contest for FIFA presidency on February 26.
