The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has called on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to concede defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari.
NANS National President, Abdulmajeed Oladimeji Oyeniyi urged Abubakar to concede defeat in the interest of sportsmanship and Nigeria’s democracy.
In a statement he signed and issued yesterday, Oyeniyi described Buhari’s victory as well deserved.
He stated that the movement to victory was made possible through the large turnout of Nigerian students and youths during the election.
“We are calling on other contestants and political parties, the candidate of the major opposition party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to honourably concede defeat and congratulate the President-elect in the spirit of true sportsmanship and in the best interest of our democracy,” Oyeniyi said.
