The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has said the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday was as a result of his integrity.
In his congratulatory message to Buhari, who was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Saturday’s presidential election, Shaibu said the president’s integrity could not be faulted worldwide, News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports.
Buhari was declared winner by INEC, defeating his closest rival Atiku Abubakar, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Reacting to Buhari’s victory, Shaibu said Buhari’s victory would strengthen the integrity of the country in international circles.
He said: “Nigeria is coming back to be a nation of integrity where our leaders can look at other leaders eye ball to eye ball and say I am not corrupt.
“People can now see us as men of integrity when we travel out of the country, because we have a leader that is globally known as a man of integrity.
“This country is going to move forward economically with assurance of needed infrastructure completion of ongoing projects.’’
