Some residents of Keffi in Nasarawa state, have urged President Muhammadu Buhari to use the opportunity of his re-election to improve on the security of the nation and tackle unemployment.
The residents told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Keffi, in separate interview, that Buhari deserved a second term, considering the giant developmental strides of his administration.
They, however, said that giving priority to the security of lives and property, by the president, would go a long way in boosting the socio-economic development of the country.
Alhaji Ibrahim Isah, a resident of Keffi, expressed happiness with the re-election of Buhari and urged him not to relent efforts towards bettering the standard of living of Nigerians.
“I am very happy with the re-election of our President, Muhammadu Buhari; he deserves a second term because he has done a lot in the areas of security, economy and corruption.
“But my call on the President is for him to give premium to the security of lives and property as well as tackle unemployment.
“Let him bring more positive programmes that will reduce and fight youth unemployment in the country,” he said.
Isah called on Nigerians to give the President maximum support to enable him succeed.
Mrs Jecinta Thomas, who also congratulated Buhari on his re-election, urged him to really tackle the menace of insecurity in the country to ensure the realisation of the desired development.
“I want to appeal to Buhari to use his victory to tackle insecurity and unemployment as this will go a long way in boosting people’s lives,” she said.
Mr Nathaniel Godswill, on his part, said that the Federal Government Social Programmes had reduced unemployment and boosted the socio-economic activities of the people.
Malam Danladi Galadima, who thanked God for allowing President Buhari’s re-election, expressed the hope that Buahri would do more in his second tenure.
