Presidential election result: Buhari sweeps Yobe, defeats Atiku

President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the presidential election in Yobe state after polling 497,914 to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 50,763 votes.

Below is the summary of the results as announced by INEC Yobe State Returning Officer, Professor Abubakar Kunduri, at the INEC state office Monday.

Total registered voters: 1,365,913

Total accredited voters: 601,059 Total valid votes: 559,365

Total rejected votes: 26,772

Total votes cast: 586,137
