Presidential debate: Ben Bruce speaks as Atiku, Buhari shun event

The Senator representing Bayelsa East, Ben Bruce, has reacted as President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to attend the Saturday’s presidential debate.
Buhari’s failure to attend the debate led to Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to withdraw from the event.
Reacting, Bruce frowned at Buhari’s failure to attend, while commending Abubakar for showing up for the event.
In a tweet, Bruce wrote: “I was with @atiku in America. The man met Congressmen and Tibor Nagy, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Africa, met the @USChamber.
“He had no rest. He rushed back to Nigeria, flying for 12 hours. Only to shower and change and head to #2019Debate and find @MBuhari absent.”
