President Jonathan receives five new Ambassadors

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday received letters of credence from five new Ambassadors to Nigeria.

Dr. Jonathan welcomed the diplomats in separate receptions at the State House Abuja.

The new Ambassadors are Myint Naung – Myanmar; Alex Lamadrid – Philippines; Isaac Genesis Munlo – Malawi; Carsten Nilaus Pederson – Denmark and Shyam Lal Tabadar – Nepal.

The president assured the new Ambassadors of a memorable stay in the country, while urging them to work towards strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and their home countries.

Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, said the Ambassadors expressed their delight for being in the country. They also acknowledge the leadership role Nigeria plays towards regional peace and security.

Abati further stated that the Ambassadors spoke of their readiness to foster relations for the benefit of both countries.
