Nigeria’s Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade on Monday led a federal government delegation to the family of the murdered Kwara State commissioner of police, Chinwike Asadu.
Also in the visit were the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar as well as the Speaker of House of representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal.
DailyPost correspondent in Enugu has reported that the delegation was received by the late CP’s brother Barr. Ogechukwu Attama, later met with the widow and the son of the deceased.
Olubolade described the late Asadu as “a highly professional police officer, who was lost under questionable circumstances”.
The IGP who also spoke in an emotional tone said Asadu’s death was a hard one for the police force.
“CP Asadu was an officer and a gentleman, we have worked together; he did his best in rendering service to this country; it is a hard one for us, something we can’t comprehend even up till now.
“Like I said before, the killers have murdered sleep, and they will never sleep, by the grace of God, we shall find those killers so that the family and the police will be comfortable; on behalf of the Nigerian police, accept our condolence”, he said.
Tambuwal, represented by the chairman of the house committee on Police Affairs, Hon. Usman Kumo said “I am here on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. We condole with this family and pray God to give this family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”.
He also wrote in the condolence register, “the officer is a galant officer, may his soul rest in peace”.
