An All Progressives Congress, APC, stalwart in Bayelsa State, Chief Bodi Arerebo, Monday, urged the state governor and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the December 5 governorship election in the state, Seriake Dickson, to present his scorecard to the people instead of attacking his opponent.
Arerebo, who also hails from Sabgama Local Government Area of the state as Dickson said the lies been peddled by the governor to demonize Sylva have instead contributed to the popularity of the latter.
He noted that Dickson lacked self-confidence because he had nothing to show for all the money he received during his first term in office.
Arerebo observed that the governor’s supporters were becoming frustrated and desperate and as such have resorted to violence.
He gave an instance where some alleged PDP thugs attacked APC supporters during a rally in his Agorogbeni community in Sagbama, adding that they stormed the venue with weapons such as axes and machetes and injured many APC party faithful.
“We had a rally in Agorogbeni, my community, in Sagbama local government, opposite Okobiri, and PDP thugs disrupted our rally. At the rally, we had over 150 people from the PDP that crossed over to the APC.
“We were having a peaceful rally until people came from nowhere with guns, machete and axes and as I speak a lot of people were injured, and one presently hospitalized in an undisclosed hospital.
“We have in good authority that people working for Dickson sponsored the thugs that attacked us. They said they were not happy that the people of the community decided to cast their votes for the APC,” he said.
