Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed why he allowed Alexandre Lacazette to take Arsenal’s penalty during their 3-0 win over Stoke.
He said he did it to help his teammate build his confidence.
Aubameyang converted his spot-kick in the 75th minute and the north London giants were awarded another penalty.
Rather than go for his hat-trick having scored a brace already, Aubameyang selflessly allowed Lacazette to take the penalty. Hide quoted text
The Frenchman made no mistake to give the Gunners a three-goal advantage.
Asked about his decision, Aubameyang told reporters, “Of course I know that Laca[zette] is back and I think I score twice so I can let him shoot, it’s normal.
“It’s good for his confidence so that’s why.”
