Premier League: Pogba breaks silence on ‘rift’ with Mourinho, speaks on his future

Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, has played down rumours of a rift with manager Jose Mourinho, but refused to commit his future to the club.

Pogba has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford recently, with youngster Scott McTominay adding to the competition in the engine room.

However, the France international was restored to Mourinho’s starting XI for their 2-0 victory over Swansea on Saturday.

“It’s true [being benched] has never happened to me, but it can strengthen me. You have to go through these periods to make you stronger.

“There is no problem with Mourinho. It’s not me who picks the team. Ask the coach if you want to know why I play less. I respect his choices,” Pogba told Telefoot.

When asked if he was considering a summer exit, Pogba who cost United £89million in 2016, said it was “too early” to talk about it.

“It’s too early to talk about a departure from United, the situation can change,” he added.
