Mixed reactions have continued to trail the news of Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, leaving the club.

Wenger shocked fans when he announced on Friday morning that he would be leaving the club at the end of the current season.

Arsenal fans on social media have reacted to the development. While some believe the Frenchman spent successful 22 years at the club, others think he was a failure.

DAILY POST brings you some of their reactions:

@Ebuka, “Wow!!! Arsene!!! In my lifetime.”

@jimw1892, “Well said. If he had achieved a 1/4 of that at almost any other club he would have a statue outside their ground & hailed as a messiah. The pathetic arsenal fans don’t deserve him.”

@AnshulKaria, “I’m an Arsenal fan that’s one thing I loved, one manager for so long. Now you don’t win a trophy for one season and you’re out. No chance to build a team that you like or anything.”

@grantwturner, “And did all this whilst seamlessly over-seeing the move from Highbury to the Emirates & transformed Arsenal’s reputation of dour “1 nil to the Arsenal” to that of a team playing (at their best) beautiful free-flowing passing football. Bravo Sir! English football owes you so much.”

@Kamz2203, “Absolutely perfect time to announce it as well, I want the Europa League now and a statue outside the Emirates or a stand named after him, for all the disgusting abuse aimed at him by “fans”, I hope they’re very happy today.”

@midas34, “Wenger leaves Arsenal battling Burnley for sixth place more than thirty points behind first place.”

@neiljonesgoal, “Obviously the right time for Wenger to go, but what memories/legacy he leaves behind, at Arsenal and beyond. The vitriol and the criticism last few years hasn’t been nice to see. Least he gets a break from that, and from the banter brigade now.”

@Karan_R31, “Although he should have left earlier, we got to respect everything Wenger has done for Arsenal. Overall he’s had a great managerial career at Arsenal and hopefully he leaves with the Europa League trophy.”

@KevYga, “Arsenal will regret the day Wenger leaves. They won’t be the same club. He’s been one of the all time greats.”
