Everton have indicated interest to table £20million for Manchester City’s Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho as a possible replacement for Belgian forward, Romelu Lukaku.
The 20-year-old striker has been a bit-part player under Pep Guardiola this season, making 19 league appearances and scoring four goals.
Iheanacho fell behind Sergio Aguero and new signing Gabriel Jesus in Guardiola’s forward line.
However, Everton manager Ronald Koeman reportedly sees the Nigerian forward as a possible replacement for Lukaku should the Belgian join Manchester United or Chelsea this summer.
An Etihad source said that, “Everton have shown an interest in Kelechi, who has been frustrated with a lack of game-time this season.
“He is highly-rated here, but has not started a match since January 2nd where as I’m sure he would get lots of first-team action elsewhere.
“Pep is looking to bolster his ranks and spend a fair chunk of cash this coming transfer window and the club could be persuaded to sell should the right offer come in.”
Iheanacho has scored 21 goals in 63 appearances since breaking into City’s first team in 2015-16 season, mostly under former manager, Manuel Pelegrini.
