Yaya Toure marked his return to Pep Guardiola’s team, with a match-winning brace, as Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park.

The Ivory Coast midfielder, has been overlooked by Guardiola for over two months, which resulted in a war of words with his agent, Dimitri Seluk.

Yaya Toure apologized to the Spaniard and the club, before he was named in the starting line-up on Saturday. He scored either side of Connor Wickham’s effort, to hand City all three points.

Liverpool are still top of the Premier League, despite drawing 0-0 with Southampton at Saint Marys.

Jurgen Klopp’s men dominated the game, but a combination of good goalkeeping from Fraizer Forster and bad finishing, meant they only lead the table on goals difference.

Victor Anichebe netted twice, as Sunderland continued their resurgence with a 3-0 victory over Hull City at the Stadium of Light. Everton were held to a 1-1 draw at home by struggling Swansea.
