The District Superintendent of the Christ Apostolic Church, Lokoja, Pastor Adeolu Bokode has expressed concerns over the level of insecurity across the country.
Bokode, who was speaking at the church’s Sunday service in Lokoja, called for a special prayer session to reverse the trend where nothing seems to be working in the country.
“Our refineries are not working; no jobs for our graduates; our leaders have become confused. No regular salary payments, what do we expect from a family where both the husband and wife, both civil servants, have not been paid in the last twelve months and we pretend as if all is well,” he said
According to Bokode, the reckless and incessant killings happening in parts of the country while leaders appeared helpless call for concern.
The cleric called on Nigerians to pray for the spirit of repentance among both the leaders and followers, just as he asked the congregation to pray for God to tear apart governments that exploit the instrumentality of office to oppress the people.
