A candlelight procession was Wednesday evening organized by members of the Olu Falae’s family to mark the posthumous birthday of Deji Falae, the former Ondo State Commissioner of culture and tourism.
Deji, who is the son of the former Minister of Finance, Olu Falae is one of the four officials of the Ondo State Government who died in a plane crash that occurred last week while the corpse of the former Governor, Olusegun Agagu was been conveyed to the state.
The candlelight procession which began at the Adegbemile Cultural Centre, Akure was organized by Deji’s sibling in conjunction with the staff of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Theatre practitioners, artistes and political office holders were also part of the procession which started at 6pm.
Many of them who wore black attires rendered different songs and wept bitterly.
One of them, an artiste, Mr. Tomogun Olubunmi who managed to speak with DailyPost described the late Commissioner as a man imbued with talents.
He noted that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has witnessed tremendous development since Deji took over as the Commissioner.
He said,” It is sad that we have to lose a man like Deji at this moment. His death has continued to bring sadness to many of us who had personal relationship with him when he was alive.
‘’He is one of the finest gentlemen I have ever worked with. He is intelligent and very hardworking. While alive, he transformed the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to an enviable height.
‘’We, artiste in Ondo state will miss him greatly because of his achievements,” the Akure based artiste said.
