Iran coach, Carlos Queiroz, has hit out at Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, for apparently elbowing Morteza Pouraliganji during their 1-1 draw on Monday.
Referee Enrique Caceres decided to show Ronaldo a yellow, instead of sending him off after the incident.
But Iran’s Portuguese manager was less than happy with the decision.
“In the rules, an elbow is a red card, it doesn’t matter if it’s Lionel Messi or Ronaldo.
“We need to know what’s going on and nobody allows me to see.
“You have one system which costs a fortune…and nobody takes responsibility. When there is a decision with VAR, we need to know who is refereeing the game,” Queiroz told reporters after the game.
