Port Harcourt records fresh killings

There have been renewed killings in parts of Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.

Gunmen struck late Thursday at Alode Community in Eleme Local Government area where two people were killed.

One of the victims was a woman identified by Mary Obeh, the sister of the killed youth leader of Alode, Isaac Obeh who was also gruesomely murdered under the same circumstance.

One person is also feared killed and several others wounded in gun violence at Okujagu community in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State.

It was gathered that suspected cultists invaded the area, shooting at random to scare passersby before killing their target.

A source within the community, who claimed to have witnessed the attack, said the gunmen were dressed in black and entered the area in a car with tinted glasses.

The latest killing at Okujagu is the second of such incident this week, after one was shut dead on Wednesday.

While the Rivers state Police Command is yet to react to the recent killings, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Elelme Local Government, Obarilomate Ollor has assured that perpetrators of the act will be apprehended.
